Dont get this app! They are the last news station to get the story. Youll be much happier with news 8, NBC, or Fox News. This app will send you push notifications at all hours of the night with meaningless stories!!!

Push notifications, when clicking on, bring you to a screen that you have to guess which story they were referring to! Worst app I have on my phone. Weather app much better.
The app itself works fine. Thats the only good part. There are too many ads, most of the top stories are national news, not local, and half the time in top stories there are individual stories about high school sports scores filling up the front page of the app. I clicked on a report following the hurricane and it was a bunch of links to different sights that are tracking the hurricane. Thats just lazy. The final straw was when a local school was in lockdown and I had to use their search bar to find the story. When a state news station cant put important state news in their stop stories, its time to go to another station. I clicked on a The final straw was when a school was in lockdown and I had to use the search
The alerts will not stop! Even when you turn off the alerts you will continue to get them! And they are not breaking news. My personal favorite is when the elude about the weather being clear and so they consider it breaking news at 6:00 am. Or another classic alert to watch the 5:00 news. Since the alerts have continued with them being shut off in the settings controls I do not even recommend downloading this. Just use the website until they can fix this unless you like feeling important with random useless alerts from you local news people and weathermen.
Deleting this app. Do you honestly think its appropriate to "alert" people that Scot Haney is making pumpkin treats on the news at 6am on a Sunday morning?! I want alerts for real news and traffic -not ads to watch the news 3 times a day. You should be ashamed of yourselves. How many people need to complain before you fix this?
This app no longer allows you to set what notifications you get and is sending everything including when the news comes on. Nobody form support even cares that they violate peoples privacy by not adhering to our settings.
First, the app works well and is updated frequently so I have no complaints about that. I wish they would do away with the iAds at the bottom of the screen since I tend to hit it a lot by mistake. Second, those people who gave it one star because of the notifications should learn how to use their phone. Just turn them off. You can change how notifications are processed by your phone by going to General > Notifications and adjusting notifications for the app. Come on: Does anything happen locally that you need to know about it that badly? I am sure you can wait until you wake up to learn about pumpkin treats. Dont blame the app.
Lately the notifications are turning into mostly spam like "For a chance for $1000 watch the show tonight!". Pretty sure this violates App Store developer guidelines. Please keep the "News" notifications to breaking news and not advertisements for the show
I like the app and can stand the self- and other advertisements. But lately if I go to open a news article the companion video will start playing--typically while Im at work and have my phone set to silent. I wont be able to use the app during the day if I think my phone is going to start blaring unexpected sounds. Thanks.
Although its a nice looking app, the news content, local news, is not updated regularly, especially on the weekends and holidays. News items from three to five days old appear as new. For all their boasting about having the latest news, their app is a disappointment.
I like the app for the local news coverage, meaning CT news. But I find that the "news" is not updated regularly. Especially on weekends and holidays I see that there will be old stories with no new content.
I liked this app, mostly for the news alerts on my lock screen. Lately, however, I seem to get way too many alerts that involve stories I do not consider to be "breaking news". Its not uncommon for me to scroll though over 10 alert notifications whenever I wake my phones screen. So I found the settings within the app and turned off all notifications other than breaking news and I am still receiving alerts regarding our impending doom for the upcoming weekend snow storm and other useless information. It seems Ch 3 has really lowered the bar on what it considers breaking news content. I will probably delete the now annoying app by weeks end.
This app stinks now. They use breaking news alerts like a Twitter feed. Every 10 minutes irrelevant news and updates flood my phone. Cool it.
I have had this app for a couple years. It was good for important local news, "was" being the key word. I liked getting notifications for Important news (local, and national). Now I get motivations telling me to "tune in tonight for the snow me might get." Its spam and its annoying. Deleting this app now and trying another local news app. And if that isnt enough, they tell you when you can watch live if something important is happening. But the ads keep playing and resetting and playing and resetting... If you get passed that without pulling your hair out, the live video rarely works.
Deleted application after several years. Way to many notifications recently.
Scots (yes, with one t) weather notifications are juvenile, "Like, OMG, will it be cold? Tune in!"
A full page ad is displayed before you can access the site. Possibly it wouldnt be so bad if the ad was relevant but I keep seeing the same ad and X and close it. Im removing this app and going to use a less annoying way to read news.
WFSB evidently feels that every bit of news - no mater how insignificant - needs to be sent out as an alert. Today I got an alert about the amount of parking at a state park! I presume the purpose is to drive traffic to the app to increase ad revenue. Shutting off alerts and/or setting quiet time doesnt stop the alerts. Dont get if you dont want your phone constantly buzzing.
I like the off line capabilities when I am traveling. When my flight is boarding I download the news so I can read it during the flight. Breaking news is usually out there. It does seem that there are a lot of alerts sometimes. In the last week there has been a pop up on almost every screen about some sort of giveaway that most wont care about--very annoying.
Way too many ads. Especially the first one after the app opens.
